EARPLUG MEDIA
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” (Margaret Mead)
The product of a few university students that shared the love for Hip Hop resulted in creation of a radio show called The Promised Land. Airing for almost 10 years on CJSF at Simon Fraser University and broadcasting all over the lower mainland of Vancouver, BC, The Promised Land Radio show focused on playing underground hip hop tracks to its local audience and its broader internet fan base. The radio show played a range of underground hip hop artists with a special feature of Canadian talent and particularly the local Vancouver Hip Hop scene.
Over the years, Earplug Media expanded to include two other radio shows including The Urban Renewal Project on CFRO and the Three Day Weekend on CJSF. Listeners could expect to hear a wide range of hip hop tracks, original samples, interviews with hip hop artists, and run down of local events. The three radio shows became a staple in hip hop in Vancouver, BC.
